Susanne has helped shape the electric bike industry from the very beginning and keeps doing so to this day. In 1999 she introduced the term pedelec (pedal electric cycle) as the result of her graduate thesis paper at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she studied languages. The term was meant to describe a new species of vehicles and is now established internationally. Extensive travels in Europe, Asia and USA, have made Susanne an expert in cross-cultural communications and networking. Her expertise in electric bike PR and testing, dates back to the early days of LEV pioneer and testing authority ExtraEnergy.
